About the Book

The significance of food and horti – forestry resources is on top of the agenda of all those who are concerned with food, nutrition and environmental issues. The book is an attempt to compile a wealth of information on food plant resources and temperate Horticulture and Forest plants of western Himalaya viz., manmade eco-system, agro-bio-diversity and natural eco-system as store house of medicinal and aromatic plants, less known edible plants, flowers and wild relatives of crop plants.

About the Author

Dr. Anand Singh Bisht is presently working as a Research Scientist in the Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry. His area of specialization is Ecology, Taxonomy and Medicinal and Aromatic plants. He has published about 20 research papers in national and International journals. He is actively engaged in germplasm collection, characterization and exploration of plant genetic resources of hill crops of Uttarakhand.

Prof. Krishan Datt Sharma is a Food Scientist, presently working as a Dean in VCSG College of Horticulture, Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry, Bharsar.

Prof. Matthew Prasad is a Food Engineer, presently working as a Vice-Chancellor of Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry, Bharsar.
